Materials which are used in defense and aerospace industries should provide maximum performance and long term mechanical strength. Therefore chosen materials should have high abrasion, temperature, chemical and mechanical strength.

Development of light weight, corrosion resistance, usage without lubricating, temperature and electrical resistance properties increase operating time and performance of materials.

Mostly high performance engineering plastics such as PEEK, PVDF, PTFE are used, but for many applications also materials such as PP, PE, PVC can be preferred.
